This alignment-focused flow class is a great way to start your day. We will move at a conscious pace, focusing on breathwork and poses that will cultivate strength and spaciousness in the body and mind. Each class will be centered around a theme based on yogic philosophy to leave you feeling inspired, energetic, and grounded. This class is geared toward anyone looking to expand and grow in their practice of yoga on and off the mat. Beginners are warmly welcome and options will be tailored to the students in the room.
Rachel McLaren, PhD
Rachel is a professor, yoga and group fitness instructor, and lover of life. She loves new experiences, learning new things, and connecting with others through community. She started practicing yoga in a Mindful Birthing class right here at Heartland Yoga when she was pregnant with her first child and loved how empowered, strong, and spacious she felt after each practice. Since then, she has delved deeply into yoga philosophy and appreciates the unifying effect yoga can have on all aspects of ourselves – minds, bodies, hearts, and spirits.
She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Betsy Rippentrop from Heartland Yoga and Marsha Nieland from Fusion Yoga Studio. Her training is based in the anusara style of yoga, meaning she offers specific cues to optimize alignment as well as heart-centered themes to leave students feeling inspired. Rachel’s teaching style is warm, encouraging, and inclusive.
