Yoga Teacher Training with Betsy & Marsha

This unique 2-part training is not just for teachers, but for anyone wishing to deepen their connection to yoga and spirituality, find their voice and renew their practice. The intention of the program is that students deepen their spiritual path through self-exploration, and through building a strong foundation for teaching yoga in a soulful, creative, and integrative way. We will explore the connections between yoga, anatomy, psychology, mythology, philosophy, and the world’s spiritual traditions with a strong emphasis on tantric philosophy and Hatha and Anusara yoga systems.

Part I -Yoga Immersion is designed for all students wanting to go deep into understanding themselves better and how their yoga practice can support this. It is a prerequisite for Part II (The Art of Teaching), which focuses on the tools of teaching including assisting, theming, effective language choice, therapeutics, and working with specific populations. Together, the overall intention of Part I and Part II is for students to deepen their spiritual path through self-exploration, and through building a strong foundation for teaching yoga in a soulful, creative, and integrative way. You can just take Part I, especially if you have no desire to teach yoga.

In this Program You Will Learn:

  • In depth study of yogic history and philosophy (including the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita)
  • Solid Understanding of the 8 limbs of yoga

  • How to establish a consistent meditation practice

  • Yogic Lifestyle and Foundational Practices

Part II-The Heart of Teaching is designed for those who have completed Part I and want to find their voice as a yoga teacher. Part II builds on the strong foundation of yoga knowledge from Part I, and adds techniques for teaching, assisting, theming, effective language choice, therapeutics, and working with specific populations.  Setting out on the path of yoga teacher training requires a strong commitment to grow, a preparedness to face personal challenges and insecurities, an openness to be vulnerable and make mistakes, and a willingness to receiving constructive feedback. Additionally, such a training is a large commitment of time and resources, so we encourage people to mindfully take into consideration all of the above. Embarking on this adventure also holds the potential for leaps of faith, huge growth, increased expansion and happiness, the creation of lasting relationships and connections, and a way to give back to others.
