Join Betsy on the Amalfi Coast of Italy for a week-long retreat of daily yoga, meditation, and inspiring adventures for your deepening into presence and capacity to savor the blessings of life. Your afternoons will be yours to read, journal, swim, and soak up the full flavor of the region, for an all-around rich and transformational personal retreat.

This intimate retreat is limited to just 12 guests, and will be held at the charming, family run bed-and-breakfast, La Fenice. Guest suites are perched in the hillside, extending all the way down to a private pool and beach. Enjoy abundant meals prepared by the Mandara family, and group excursions including an Italian cooking class, hike on the pathway of the Gods, visit to the ruins of Pompeii, and opportunities to explore the cobblestone streets of Amalfi and Ravello.

This retreat is ideal for those seeking a sweet week of tending to body, mind, and soul while exploring the rich culture, land, and food of this stunning corner of Italy. The yoga asana will be accessible to all-levels, inviting mindful awareness, refined alignment, and engagement of dynamic movement principles to deepen the work and enliven the body.


La Fenice is a beautiful, family-run bed and breakfast perched within the enchanting hills of Positano. The villas and cottages gradually drop down the hillside, lush with cascades of bougainvillea and lemons, all the way down to the Tyrrhenian sea. La Fenice features a pool with waterfall and jacuzzi, and private beach with kayaks for adventuring. La Fenice is just a short, 10-minute walk from the town centre.

Most rooms at La Fenice overlook the sea and feature private balconies and terraces. Rooms are simple, charming, and spacious, and reflect the authentic character of the region.

There are several options for traveling to Positano from Rome and Naples. From Naples, a private car/taxi takes approximately 1.5hrs, or you might choose to take a train (leaving every 25mins) to Sorrento, from which you can continue by bus to Positano.


Incredible meals will be prepared by the Mandara family. Seasonal items are harvested from the property (including grapes in September and olives & nuts in October).

Vegan, gluten-free, and special diets can be accommodated.

Fall Yoga and Ayurveda Retreat in Dubuque, IA October 24-27 2019

Join us in a three night retreat focused on rest and rejuvenation as we prepare for the transition from Fall into Winter. Through practice, conversations, reflection, and a serene retreat environment, explore how to embrace the darkness of this season, and savor this time of year to move inward and slow down.  Fall is often a time when anxiety increases, and we feel less grounded and centered. Let this retreat be your opportunity to re-set, ground down, and create clarity and support for yourself during the seasonal changes.

The Four Mounds retreat center is a beautiful property overlooking the Mississippi River. We will eat nourishing, vegetarian meals made with local produce. Come with a friend or partner, or form new connections throughout this sweet weekend – chatting fireside about yoga, Ayurvedic self care, diet, and lifestyle. There will free time for wandering the grounds, reading, and resting.

Most importantly, this weekend is for YOU – to rest deeply, have fun, and step away from the business of our lives and enjoy the company of like-minded people.  For some, this weekend may be an opportunity to have a gentle and supportive Ayurvedic Fall cleanse, while others use the weekend as a launch for a continued cleanse and self-care program upon returning home.  Whatever the retreat time is for you, the New Moon on Monday, October 28th will support your transition home and integration of this new knowledge into your daily life.

The Retreat begins with arrival on Thursday between 4-5 pm.  The event ends after the morning sessions on Sunday around 11 am.  

Our co-host, Katerina, is a yoga instructor and Ayurvedic chef. Katerina completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2016 with Fannie in Iowa City. After graduating college, she worked in research studying the effects of diet on mental health. When she discovered Ayurveda, she immediately connected with the holistic healing science and the ancient wisdom of using food as medicine.  She continued her studies of Ayurveda at the Himalayan Institute, receiving her Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist certification. Last year, Katerina moved to Kauai to work as a chef and yoga instructor at an Ayurvedic retreat center. She is currently living in NYC continuing her training in Ayurvedic cooking.
